Apple Event Tomorrow Being Streamed live.

Apple announced this afternoon that they will be broadcasting their media event live over the internet.
Apple will broadcast its September 1 event online using Apple’s industry-leading HTTP Live Streaming, which is based on open standards. Viewing requires either a Mac running Safari on Mac OS X version 10.6 Snow Leopard, an iPhone or iPod touch running iOS 3.0 or higher, or an iPad. So that means no PCs. The live broadcast will begin at 10:00 a.m. PDT on September 1, 2010 at www.apple.com.
This is the first time for many years that Apple has decided to offer a live video stream of their media events.

Update on new ipod nano/shuffle

Here is a picture of the rumored Ipod nano. I personally think this might be the new iPod shuffle. but we will have to see. But this is going to be sick either way.

Mockup of next-generation iPod nano - almost certainly a speculative design concept

One of the new case leaks offers enough detail that you can begin to guess at some of the physical features of the next-generation iPod nano or shuffle. A long slot on the edge of case certainly appears to be designed to accommodate Apple's dock connector, which has been claimed to be included on the new device. An elongated hole on the opposite edge likely represents an on/off or hold switch like on several previous and current iPod models.

Speculative identification of next-generation iPod nano physical features

The remaining three holes visible on the claimed iPod nano case are less obvious in their functionality, but one (possibly the one next to the dock connector) is certain to be a headphone jack. The remaining pair of holes in close proximity along the opposite edge could accommodate physical volume buttons similar to those found on the iPhone 4, although that conclusion is the most speculative of the identifications.

Leave us a comment on what you think.

New iPod nano or Shuffle?

Here is a picture of the possible new iPod nano or iPod Shuffle. This is in comparison to the 2gen nano and if its true it will be all touch screen. Pretty tight if you ask me.

How To Get Apple's Actual Dashboard Widgets on iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad!

Many people have wondered why Apple did not implement their actual Dashboard into the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad with firmware 4.0. At least there is good news now, as you can actually install it anyway! Check out the video below, and visit our youtube channel for more information. http://www.youtube.com/danglekingpc. RockApp, Free through Cydia

When you jailbreak using the latest exploit – Jailbreakme.com or Redsn0w – you only get one third-party app store installed: Cydia. RockApp is basically the Ford to Cydia’s General Motors, doing much the same thing, but a little differently. It contains a lot of software you simply can’t get from Cydia, and even has a better interface. Apps typically cost more money, but every single one comes with a free trial, so you can make sure it’s worth purchasing before breaking out the credit card. Plus its a lot faster then the older Cydia. But There is also something Cydia can do this cant. But over all this is something good to have on all jailbroken iDevices.

New Ipod touch with retina display AND two cameras?

The new ipod touch that has been leaked on many cites has been talked about having a front facing camera for facetime.... but what about a back camera and a retina display. Macrumors.coms says
"Most observers have assumed that the next-generation iPod touch will gain the same high-resolution Retina display found in the iPhone 4, but its camera features have been the subject of some debate. Several leaks of claimed next-generation iPod touch parts seem to show a hole for front-facing camera to allow users to engage in FaceTime video calling, suggesting that the device will offer that functionality."
But this causes many more questions. Like will the design be different? What size camera would it even be? And how much will this ipod touch cost? But we are unsure about this. It has been said it would fit. Macrumors.com also talks about this.
"A rear-facing camera has been a bigger question mark for the next-generation iPod touch, with the depth of the rear-facing cameras found in the iPhone 4 (5-megapixel) and even the iPhone 3GS (3.2-megapixel) appearing too thick for the thinner and more tapered form factor of the existing iPod touch. The issue is not insurmountable, of course, as advances in camera sensor technology might allow Apple to squeeze in a thinner camera still offering the same resolution as the iPhone 3GS's camera, for example. Alternatively, design changes to the iPod touch, such as an elimination of the tapered edges as was done in the redesign for the iPhone 4 or even a general increase in thickness, would offer enough space for one of the thicker iPhone camera modules."
So what do you think. Leave a comment or feel free to contact us. Thanks for reading don't forget to check back often.

Apple to Offer ATI Radeon HD 5870 Card for 2009 Mac Pro

When Apple announced the new 2010 Mac Pros, they finally added support for two new ATI Radeon HD graphics cards for the Mac Pro. The new Mac Pros can be configured with either the ATI Radeon HD 5770 or 5870 cards. Existing Mac Pro owners had been hopeful that they would be able to easily upgrade their existing Mac Pros to these same cards.

Apple has finally started listing the standalone graphics card upgrade kits on their website, but it doesn't appear to offer existing Mac Pro users many new options.

$249. ATI Radeon HD 5770 - Only compatible with the Mid 2010 Mac Pro
$449. ATI Radeon HD 5870 Upgrade Kit - Only compatible with Mid 2010 and Early 2009 Mac Pros

The 5770 part is essentially a replacement part for the newly shipping Mac Pros and apparently does not officially offer an upgrade path to existing Mac Pro owners. Meanwhile, the 5870 card (which isn't shipping yet) does offer an upgrade path, but only for 2009 Mac Pro owners.

Apple still offers the ATI Radeon HD 4870 as an upgrade option for both 2009 and 2008 Mac Pros. The 4870, however, remains priced at $349 but is said to offer similar performance as the 5770 card.

iPod Touch and iOS Media Event Scheduled for Mid-August?

Claimed next-generation iPod touch LCD and front bezel showing apparent camera hole

MacMagazine reports (Google translation) that it has received information from a "reliable source within Apple" that the company is planning to hold its traditional September iPod-focused media event a bit early this year, with the middle of this month appearing to be the targeted date.
The MacMagazine today received information from a reliable source within Apple about a new event to the press that the company was planning to soon. Although the schedule cite the source as somewhere around 14 and 16, we bet our chips on a Monday or Tuesday - that is, 16 or August 17.
According to the source, the event will include a focus on the company's next-generation iPod touch, as well as information on an iOS 4 release for iPad. Revisions to other iPod models would also appear to be a reasonable expectation, although the report does not have confirmation as to whether they would be launched at the August event or held until the following month.

Rumors about the next-generation iPod touch have been circulating in recent weeks, with continuing evidence in both software betas and parts leaks suggesting that we can expect a front-facing FaceTime camera in the new iPod touch.

The rumored timeframe for Apple's media event also corresponds to a claimed August 17th release date for iLife '11. It is not immediately clear how an iLife update would directly relate to Apple's typically tightly-focused iPod events held around this time of the year, but rumors have also claimed that Apple will be introducing a new mystery application in the suite, and it is possible that the addition could be tied into iPod/iOS enhancements.

New iOS device rumors.

The site iLounge has released images and information concerning to next set of Apple products, which includes a new iPad, iPhone 5 and the next generation of iPod.
The iPad, as you can see in the picture, may be getting a smaller screen but no front facing camera can be seen. Since a front facing camera is almost certain on the next generation of iPads, since according to this the OS for it is already been made, this still only remains a possible rumor. Of course, if it the image was faked for the purpose of comparisons, then anything is possible.
iPhone 5 will obviously try to clear up any antenna issues that iPhone 4 had BUT Apple may intend to rush this out in early January 2011. It's difficult to believe that Apple would do something like that, but it may be a better approach than pretending it didn't happen and staying on schedule. cough-windows-7-took-far-to-long-to-replace-vista-cough. Still, if it is released in January, the new features may be few and unimpressive. So should they wait another year to release? As a comparison, windows 7 was excellent but took far to long, but if they had released it earlier and it had been terrible, it just makes the problems worse. We will keep you updated on this one.
Finally, there will be 3 new iPods, a nano, a touch and what will probably a shuffle that has a 1.7 inch touch screen, as seen here. It will probably be just the touch screen, otherwise it will start to look like a nano. For the iPod touch, it will probably end up being very similar to the iPhone 4, with a camera, though, some argue if it will have both the front and back facing camera or just a back facing one. Few details can provide us with any insight on recent prototypes, but we expect to know in a few weeks or so.
