Windows 7 Phones vs. The iPhone 4

Microsoft has recently unveiled their Windows Phone 7 Series to compete with Apple's iPhone 4. It features a whole new Operating System, and actually looks very similar to the Zune OS--quite snazzy. What do you guys think about this? Leave your thoughts below. Maybe this phone will finally be Microsoft's hit. We will have to wait and see.

Costco will no longer sell iPods

Costco has never been allowed to sell iPads and with the recent surge of massive iPad sales, they must have bee feeling left out, because iLounge reports that they will now discontinue selling iPods.  Costco has only been able to watch as giant competitors such as Target, Walmart, and Sam's Club are all massively benefiting from the sales of Apple's iPad.  iLounge had this to say about this:

"Membership club Costco, the third-largest retailer in the U.S., is preparing to cease carrying iPods, according to an iLounge source who asked not to be identified. Based on the report, which notes that iPods have already disappeared from the company's web site, Costco will stop carrying the iPod after being unable to stock the iPad..."

 The current iPods in stock will sell out and be the last iPods sold.  No official statement from Costco has been released at this time.

iPad Coming to Verizon?!

Later this month, Apple is set to partner for the first time with Verizon in allowing the company to sell the iPad. On October 28th, Verizon Wireless will begin selling the iPad, along with a mi-fi wireless modem in order to use the device on the Verizon 3g Network. The reason for this is because the iPad is not made for CDMA carriers, and it needs a seperate mi-fi to get connected. However, this is still shocking that Apple is finally partnering with Verizon! The iPad is said to be the same price that it is sold for at At&t with a 3G connectivity plan. Also, At&t will begin selling the iPad at all of its local retail stores as well as Apple stores. This is all great news, but it leads to the everlasting rumor of a Verizon iPhone coming sometime in the near future. The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal have both made serious claims saying the device will be available in January 2011, and this iPad move seems to supplement that prediction. Only time will tell.

OS X Snow Leopard vs OS X Lion

There has been a lot of buzz going around recently about what will be included in the next version of Mac OS X. Rumors have been saying 3D Hyper Reality Displays will come into play, others are saying it will offer an "Unknown Revolutionary Feature", and yet others are absolutely uninformed. Snow Leopard has been around for a while now, and it really has been a revolution in terms of speed and ease of use. What will be included in the next version of Mac OS X? Will it be similar to iOS? We will just have to wait and see until next week.

Mac OS X Lion? Apple's Back to the Mac Conference October 20th

3D may come to the next Macs

Today, according to Patently Apple, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has published Apple's patent, which describes a input device that works in both 2D and 3D.  The description is a bit confusing, so here is how Patently Apple describes it:

"The technology will somehow allow you to project an input device into the display of the unit that could then be used instead of the physical input device. For instance, a physical touchpad could be created virtually on your display and then used as you would your physical trackpad."

This sort of a interaction could require a touch pad, or an upgrade to the Magic Trackpad, and could vastly benefit games and change how they are played.  However, there has been no evidence that Apple has any released any information to developers about this change, so any games will be delayed until after release.  That is as of now though, we shall keep you posted if any more information is released about it.



So basically, the point of this patent is to change how users can cycle through windows and move through the screen.  It is almost certain we will see more patents describing more features of this in the future, so check back to keep updated
